Forest Sector Development

A workshop on catalysing forest sector development program for Ethiopia was organized by Environment, Forest and Climate Change (EFCCC) in collaboration with UNDP on August 23, 2019 ILRI, Addis Ababa.

This project is a result and continuation of the institutional strengthening for forest Sector Development (ISFSD) programme financially supported by the Norwegian government.

The objective of the workshop was to define a roadmap for various actors to seek opportunities of resources from other actors for comprehensive outcome.

The workshop participants were drawn from national and regional government officials, experts, Norwegian Embassy, Swedish Embassy, Swedish academic institutions, Ethiopian  academia and research institutions.

The workshop was officially opened by EFCCC deputy commissioner, H.E Ato Kebede Yimam. In his speech, he stressed that the support the government of Ethiopia is receiving from the government of Norway and Sweden for the institutional strengthening for forest sector development program, is helping Ethiopia to achieve it's climate resilient green economy strategy plan.
