The Nordic-African Business Summit has been hosted for nine consecutive years in Oslo, but will this year, for the first time, bring business people and politicians together virtually. Norwegian Foreign Minister H.E. Ine Eriksen Søreide and African Union Commissioner for Energy and Infrastructure, H.E. Dr. Amani Abou-Zeid, together with CEO of the Africa Finance Corporation, Samaila Zubairu, and CEO of Scatec Solar, Raymond Carlsen, will open the virtual Summit in the morning hours, Thursday 8th of October.

More than 40 speakers

The day will feature a total of 17 sessions, covering key sectors, trends and issues driving the

business agenda in Africa.

-Our more than 40 distinguished speakers will be focusing on a range of issues from sectors such as energy, media and agribusiness, to topics such as cyber security, regional trade and how we can best be doing business virtually, says Eivind Fjeldstad, CEO of NABA. In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway’s leading solar energy company Scatec Solar, and the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) is also co-hosting this year’s Nordic-African Business Webcast.

Also digital networking

- Every fall we have brought together more than 400 business people from both African and Nordic countries, but this year we expect several thousand guests – from all corners of Africa, Europe, Asia and the US, says Fjeldstad. In addition to great speakers, the organizers will provide ample networking opportunities in their virtual café throughout the day.

- The pandemic may have stopped us from travelling, but our digital platform will help useful connections find each other, says Fjeldstad.
