Visitor’s visa and residence permit

A visitor's visa allows you to stay in Norway or other Schengen countries for up to 90 days over a period of 180 days. A residence permit gives you the opportunity to work in Norway and to stay for more than 90 days.

Are you planning to travel to Norway and need a visa or residence permit?

Applicants applying in Cook Islands need a visitor and residential visa to enter or live in Norway. All applications are handled by VFS Global. Your application will be sent from the local VFS office to the Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, the regional hub for immigration cases.

Where to apply?

  • All applicants applying in Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand must meet and apply in person at one of VFS Global application centers. VFS Global will ensure the applications are sent to Bangkok for further processing. You will also still be able to collect the decision documents at VFS Global.

Courier fee

  • When applying, there will be a fee payable online when you register your application and a service fee charged by VFS Global. All applications will be subject to a courier fee to cover the transportation of the application documents between the visa application center and Bangkok, Thailand. These fees are payable to VFS Global on your application day. The courier fee will be specified on the website of VFS Global.
