Young Choristers visits Shanghai July 8-17

Invited by the Shanghai Poly Grand Theater, the Young Choristers South-East regional choir (Ung Kirkesang) will visit Shanghai this July. They will join the “Summer in Poly” Shanghai International Children’s Chorus Festival on Wednesday July 10, and they will also give a service at East Shanghai Church on July 14.

Young Choristers South-East regional choir (SØK) plans to visit Shanghai during 8-17 July. The choir has 32 choristers aged 12-22. The choir’s conductor and artistic director is Grete Hasselgård Sele, who works as choir leader in Bø in Telemark. Rolf Axelsen Lie provides accompaniment by piano and organ.

The Norwegian Young Choristers will participate the Shanghai Poly Grand Theatre "Summer of the Poly” international children's chorus festival during the period of July 10th -14th 2019. On July 13th, a grand choral concert will be held in Shanghai Poly Grand Theatre. The Norwegian Young Choristers will together with the Shanghai Poly Grand Theatre Children´s chorus bring famous Chinese and International repertoire including Norwegian folk songs.

On 14 July, the choristers will give combined worship with the Night Choir of East Shanghai Church at East Shanghai Church at 19:00.

The Young Choristers comprises more than 300 member choirs in Norway, and organizes three regional choirs, which aims to inspire and further the development of classical vocal music. The choir is supported by artistic leadership, as well as the project secretary of SØK, Ingvild Vist, and Secretary General of Young Choristers Norway, Nils Hidle, along with further support staff, and our Norwegian-Chinese project supporters Elise Chen and Zu Ting Chen.
