Sharing experience on internship – opportunities and pitfalls

NBA China and BI Norwegian Business School are inviting NBA members and students in the Shanghai area to an experience-sharing event on the opportunities and pitfalls business may encounter regarding their internship program. Professor at BI Norwegian Business School, Benedicte Brøgger and Jotun’s Regional Marine Director, Morten Sten Johansen will share their experience and suggestions on this subject.

Norwegian photographer Anja Niemi at PhotoFairs Shanghai 2018

The contemporary Norwegian photo-artist Anja Niemi will be one of the artists of Galerie Photo 12 (Los Angeles, Paris & Shanghai) to present artworks at the PhotoFairs Shanghai 2018 (20-23 Sep 2018). Anja will give a talk at the Artist in Conversation session together with writer Tom Seymour about the performative aspect of her work, @Conversation Room, Shanghai Exhibition Center, 2.00pm-3.00pm, 22 Sep 2018. She will join the signing session of her artbooks at Photo 12 Galerie/D20 from 4.30pm afterwards. Anja Niemi is also subject of the magazine IDEAT China’s September edition dedicated to photography, now in sale.

Oslo Innovation week and Nordic edge

In the end of September, Norway will host Oslo Innovation week and Nordic Edge Expo. Both of these events are dedicated to creating viable business solutions through entrepreneurship, technology and innovation. The events will feature conferences, workshops and seminars led by leading international and local startups. The Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai has worked closely with Innovation Norway Beijing office to organize a joint media and business trip themed “Innovation and Smart city” to cover these two events.

Nordic Edge expo: In just three years, Nordic edge has become one of the largest Smart City event in the Nordics. The expo is a three- day conference running from 25 - 27 September. It covers Smart City topics like education, mobility, health, energy and renewables as strategic tools to achieve smart city strategies. Their aim is to find solutions for the current and future challenges of different sized communities. Nordic Edge Expo 2018 expects 5000 visitors, 300 exhibitors and 150 speakers.

Oslo Innovation week: Oslo Innovation week takes place in Oslo for the 14th time, gathering thousands of the world’s most innovative minds. The event, which is held from 24-28 September focuses on solutions that can solve real global challenges through entrepreneurship, technology and innovation. The event will feature seminars, conferences and workshops. The highlight of the week will be the OIW 100 pitches, which from previous years has attracted hundreds of startups to Oslo.

Ceramic Art Exhibition to open in Bergen

The ceramic art exhibition Material Consequence, featuring work from China, Norway, Denmark and Canada, will be running at Bergen Culture Gallery (Kunstgarasjen) 21 September to 14 October 2018. The exhibition is co-curated by Chinese and Norwegian curators, and will also be joined by Norwegian artists. 

 

Shipping China 2018

Following on from last year's successful Shipping China 2017, which brought together 200 high profile industry experts and leaders, Norwegian company TradeWinds is set to deliver Shipping China 2018 to discuss the latest topics of interest in the field.

Over 30 high profile speakers from various key sectors of the shipping industry will convene and cover one of the most dynamic shipping markets in the world. The topics for discussion are:

Topic 1: Sustainable Shipping and Future Fuels 2020

Topic 2: Changing Landscape of Ship Finance and Shipping Investment Opportunities

Topic 3: Digital Ocean: Where are we now and what to expect in the near future

Among the speakers, we can find Norwegian entrepreneur Aleksander Stensby (managing director, Klaveness Digital) who will be speaking on issues related to topic 3.

"NORDLYS" concert at Shanghai Concert Hall

The Chen sisters, Sara and Catharina will together with pianist Ole Chistian Haagenrud play at Shanghai Concert Hall October 18. Sara and Catharina started playing violin at age five, and have since captured Norway with their talents. Both of them have contributed in several national and international tours and festivals in the world and received numerous of awards. The sisters are originally from Shanghai, and will this October come back to play a concert named NORDLYS.
