Norway introduces its strictest entry rules since March 2020
To limit the risk of transmitting the significantly more contagious variant of the coronavirus, the Government is imposing far stricter rules on foreign nationals who seek entry to Norway.
Stricter rules for testing and quarantine upon arrival to stop coronavirus mutation
The requirement to present a negative SARS-CoV-2 test prior to arrival when travelling to Norway is being amended to require a test taken 24 hours prior to departure instead of 72 hours.
International interest about deaths following coronavirus vaccination
A large proportion of the people who were offered coronavirus vaccination first in Norway were the elderly, often with severe underlying diseases. Several deaths reported in connection with vaccination have attracted international interest.
Registration form for persons travelling to Norway
From 21 December 2020, all travelers entering Norway are required to register their name, contact details, place of quarantine, employer (if applicable) and any other information requested.
Restrictions on entry into Norway (COVID-19)
Travelers from red countries must present a certificate of a negative Covid-19 test when they arrive in Norway. The test must have been taken less than 72 hours before entry. If the person does not present such a test, he or she may be refused entry.
