Global travel advice to be rescinded as of 1 October
The global advice against non-essential travel to all countries with the exception of the EU/EEA countries, Switzerland and the UK, as well as certain countries and regions outside Europe, will not be extended after 1 October.

The withdrawal of the global travel advice is a step in the process of returning to normality but with a higher level of preparedness. The Ministry will now assess the various countries that are currently encompassed by the global travel advice. A list of countries for which travel advice will continue to apply after 1 October will be published on the government website regjeringen.no before the global travel advice is rescinded at midnight on 30 September. Women in Shipping on the agenda in Shanghai
The maritime industry must recruit the best talents from the entire population to stay competitive and prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. However, only around 16% of those working in the Norwegian maritime industry today are women. The situation is the same globally. How can the gender balance in the industry be improved? This was the topic of Thursday’s event of Women in Shipping, co-hosted by the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai and Ladies Who Tech at ideaPod The Bund in Shanghai.

Norway’s Minister of Trade and Industry Iselin Nybø, gave over 70 guests an introduction to Norway’s new policy to improve the equality and inclusiveness in the maritime sector. Director for International Cooperation and Climate at Norwegian Shipowners' Association (Norges Rederiforbund), Helene Tofte, introduced the principles and goals the industry works toward to achieve a better gender balance.

Norway’s Consul General Lise Nordgaard kicked-off the discussion with opening remarks, where she highlighted that closing the gender gap in the industry will both improve competitiveness and the necessary innovation. A big thank you to Yaling Liu from Kongsberg Maritime, Lucy Lu from ULSTEIN and 衣高洁 Yi from DNV. You provided great insights and inspiration from your experience working in the maritime industry.
