In addition to the health concerns we all have, many countries have implemented a wide range of important measures to prevent further spread of the virus. Some of these measures have considerable impact on our daily lives, including our ability to travel.
If you are travelling, please be aware that these measures and restrictions may be applicable to you. The application and nature of these measures and restrictions may change on short notice, and may have economic costs.
I advise you to contact your tour/travel operator for the latest updates before departure to your destination. Norwegian citizens in China should pay close attention to advice provided by local authorities through local media or other channels. Be prepared for delays and other inconveniences as a result of these restrictions.
For Norwegian citizens in need of consular assistance, please contact the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing (emb.beijing@mfa.no) or the Norwegian Foreign Service Response Centre in Oslo, tlf +47 23 95 00 00 (operated 24/7). I also urge you to stay informed and follow the official travel information from the Norwegian Government (In Norwegian only), as well as the health information on the Coronavirus published by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. Norwegian citizens currently in China are encouraged to register your stay in the Norwegian Government’s Travel Registry. At the Embassy website you will also find links to information sites in English from local Chinese authorities.
I extend my sympathy to all those affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Please accept our heartfelt thoughts and encouragements.
