The Partnership Program for North America
The Partnership Program with North America is a program for cooperation in higher education with the United States and Canada. The goal is to increase collaboration and student mobility between Norwegian and North American higher education institutions, as well as enterprises in the public and private sectors.
Short term cooperation projects:
Project funding up to NOK 300 000 per project over 2 years
Deadline: September 22, 2017
Who may apply?
Accredited Norwegian higher education institutions, public and private. The institution may apply together with one or more partner institutions in the eligible countries. The partner institution must be an accredited higher education institution in the US or Canada.
How to apply?
Applications must be submitted through SIU’s online application database Espresso. The Norwegian project coordinator must create and submit the application in Espresso.

The Norway-Canada Globalink Partnership Award
A new initiative to strengthen international research collaborations between leading industry and academic organizations in Norway and Canada through industrial research internships for graduate students.
Approved projects are awarded a research grant of $15,000CAD. Minimum $10,000CAD will go to a student stipend to do a research internship with a company in the partner country.
Students spend a minimum of 16 weeks and a maximum of 24 weeks on a research project, with the time dedicated to working on the project being split between Canada and Norway

Who may apply?
Graduate students (master and PhD level) from eligible higher education and research institutions in Norway and Canada, in collaboration with for-profit industry partners.
How to apply?
Complete research proposals are submitted by the student and home academic supervisor to Mitacs. Proposals from Norway are submitted via SIU.
The program is under development and will be launched in the spring of 2017.

International Partnerships for Excellent Education and Research (INTPART)
The INTPART program will promote the development of long-term relations between Norwegian higher education and research institutions and high-quality academic environments in the eight priority countries: Brazil, Canada, China, India, Japan, Russia, South Africa and the US.
Long term cooperation projects:
Project funding up to NOK 4,5 million per project over 3 years
Deadline: May 24, 2017.
Who may apply?
Funding from the INTPART program may be sought by Norwegian universities, university colleges or research institutions in collaboration with partners in selected countries.
How to apply?
Applications must be submitted through the electronic application form developed by the Research Council of Norway (RCN). The program is jointly administrated by SIU and RCN.
