Changes in entry regulations for travelers from Canada

Starting Monday August 23rd 2021 Canada will no longer be considered a “purple” country under Norwegian COVID regulations. This is due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Canada. The change will mean that fewer Canadian travelers can enter Norway and most travelers must stay in a quarantine hotel.

Most people who live outside the EU/EEA/Schengen area cannot travel to Norway now. More information on who can enter Norway now can be found here:

Please note that COVID-19 vaccination certificates from countries outside the EU/EEA and Schengen area are not accepted as documentation in Norway.

If you live in a country outside the EU/EEA or Schengen Area but have a valid Norwegian or EU/EEA/Schengen COVID-19 certificate proving that you have been fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 during the last six months, you can use this to travel to Norway.
