The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ottawa - Business Promotion Coordinator (full-time position)

To further strengthen Norwegian-Canadian relations, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ottawa is looking to recruit a Business Promotion Coordinator to support Norwegian enterprises and industry in Canada, and work closely with the ambassador in business promotion activities.

In this position, you will support Norwegian companies in cooperation with Innovation Norway (Toronto), Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) and our consulates around Canada. Together, as Team Norway, we promote Norwegian competitive advantages – including maritime, offshore and health technology, shipping, aquaculture, and renewable energy. The job also includes an element of small-grant management.

The overall priority of Team Norway is to support and enhance Norwegian -Canadian business relations and promote Norwegian products and services in Canada. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience with supporting companies/organisations that are entering, or already in, an international growth phase, as well as planning events and delegation trips.

We are seeking a person with relevant experience and/or higher education who is efficient, systematic, and self-driven, and has a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work as a team player. Knowledge of federal and provincial government structures will be a considerable asset. A strong command of the English and French languages is desired, and skills in Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish would be an asset.

We are looking for a person with excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills. You will work closely with other members of the 10-person embassy staff to ensure a high level of professionalism and quality in our daily operations – and will be prepared to perform a broad range of tasks when required.

Familiarity with standard computer tools is required. The Embassy has modern and spacious facilities in downtown Ottawa.
