With regard to an article originally published by FIPA (Foreign Investment Agency) of BiH after a meeting with the representatives of the Norwegian Embassy on Friday 13 October 2017, and republished in many other media outlets, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Sarajevo hereby issues the following statement:

The company Arifagić Investment, Trnopolje, Kozarac is exclusively a private enterprise, solely financed by the private capital of Mr. Jusuf Arifagić, Bosnian-Norwegian businessman. The Norwegian Government has never invested any money or donated any funds in it.

As for the “Norwegian investments in 2015 and 2016” mentioned in the article, the Embassy would like to clarify the following:

In previous years, the Norwegian Embassy managed two funds – CSF- for strengthening of civil society, and the Embassy fund – for smaller projects. These funds were liquidated in 2015/2016. This should not be mixed with possible investments from Norway.
