Due to the dramatic rise in Covid-19 cases and critical situation for the health services in India, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising against all travel to the country as well as to Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Iraq. Norway has introduced stricter entry restrictions for travelers arriving from these countries. With very few exemptions, any person who departs from these countries and arrives in Norway after 12 pm, 28 April, must stay at a quarantine hotel.
To safeguard the personal safety of travelers, limit the risk of infections being brought into Norway from abroad, and to avoid adding to the burden on the health services of these countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is now advising against all travel to these places.
The Foreign Service has very limited or no capacity to provide consular assistance to Norwegian citizens who require help in these countries.
