As of 20 May 2019 the Norwegian Embassy in Baku is closed for the public. The final closure takes place on 28 June 2019. Requests from the public concerning Azerbaijan should be directed to the The Norwegian Embassy in Ankara.
Since the beginning of the 1990s Azerbaijan and Norway have developed extensive bilateral relations. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 5 June 1992. The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Baku opened in June 1998. Today the Embassy is located in the center of Baku, right next to the Fountain Square. The Embassy in Baku is also accredited to Georgia, and makes frequ ent visits to Tbilisi.
