Gather the necessary documentation

You must gather all the documents in the relevant checklist on UDI’s website. Some of the documents must be provided by your contact person in Norway; others you will have to obtain yourself. 

Please note that your passport and official documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas etc.) must be handed in in original. In addition you must provide certified copies of the same documents. Some documents may require an apostille or legalisation.

All documents must be in A4 size and all staples, glue etc. must be removed.

Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that all required documentation is provided.  If you do not submit all relevant documents, the case will be forwarded to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration as is, and the application may be delayed or rejected.

Original passports and official documents are returned to you together with the decision letter when your application has been processed. If you require the documents before your application has been processed, the embassy may return them during the process on request.
