Due to mandatory biometric data capture, all application for passports must be lodged in person at the embassy in Canberra. Even if the embassy will make all endeavours to carry out the agreed biometric capture, unforeseen problems may arise. The embassy cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience, financial or otherwise, this may cause.

Applications will be received at the embassy in Canberra by appointment only. If you arrive without an appointment, you will not be seen.

Each applicant must create an individual appointment. If you are also lodging an application for personal number or retention of citizenship, separate appointments must be made for this. Please allow a minimum of 45 minutes processing time per application.

All appointments must be booked online. Through our online booking system you can book, re-schedule or cancel your appointment at any time. If you do change your appointment, please remember to cancel the old one. New appointments become available in the portal on a daily basis two months in advance. Thus, it is not possible to book an appointment more than two months in advance.

Please note that the Embassy is currently experiencing a very high demand for appointments.
