Friday November 15, 2019, Ambassador Grøndahl presented his credentials to H.E. President Illir Meta of Albania

Friday November 15, 2019, Ambassador Jens Erik Grøndahl presented his credentials from His Majesty King Harald V to H.E. President Illir Meta of Albania during a ceremony held at the President's office in Tirana.

Ambassador Grøndahl was warmly welcomed by the President and they both agreed to intensify the relations between Norway and Albania.

 

Statement by Ambassador Grøndahl

"Albania plays a key role as a factor of stability in South-East Europe and we seek to increase our partnership with Albania in this regard. Norway will make a priority towards supporting Albania's process of Euro-Atlantic integration, security and the rule of law. Further, new business opportunities will be explored, and the people of Norway and the people of Albania are getting ever more closer because of the high rise in Norwegian tourism arrivals to Albania."

 

Ambassador Grøndahl's background

Ambassador Grøndahl has worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1997. He has experience from the Balkan countries and knows the region well. He also has a background from West Africa and South Asia regions. In addition, he has experience within the fields of management and reforms in the foreign service. His line of work has also included the utilization of economic instruments in Norwegian foreign policy and development policy.
