Visit to South of Albania

The Norwegian Ambassador together with the Mayor of Gjirokaster

During 22-24th of April, Ambassador Per Strand Sjaastad, accompanied by the Norwegian Consul General in Tirana, Marinela Jazoj, visited the south of Albania.

The purpose of the visit was to meet with local representatives in politics and business to learn about developments, opportunities and challenges in the region. The visit included Vlora, Saranda, Gjirokaster and Butrint.

The Ambassador discussed opportunities for enhanced cooperation within tourism, both along the coast and in the mountains, and the possible role of Norway, as one of the leading maritime nations in the world, in developing the maritime sector in Albania.
