Testaments

The Inheritance Act has certain requirements as to how a testament should be drawn up. A standard testament must be signed by a testator and two witnesses at the same time.

...that new regulations in the Inheritance Act gives cohabitants with joint children a limited right to inheritance and possession of estate?

As of 1 July 2009, cohabitants with joint children get a limited right to possession of estate and a limited right to inheritance. To be in possession of an estate means that the surviving part gets a partial right of use of assets, such as common house and household effects.
