- Foreign language web pages should be gathered under a separate "Home page".
- Web site navigation should be clear and simple. One should always be able to return the foreign language home page and Norwegian version of the web site.
- The URL address should be concise and logical, for example, http://norwegianname/english.
Language
- The foreign language should be used consistently, particularly for menu choices.
- Texts should be written in correct and user-friendly language.
- Web pages should be proof-read before publication.
- Translation of official terminology should be checked by an authoritative body.
Content
- A clear and concise description of the organisation and its services should be included under an "About ..." menu choice.
- Contact information for the organisation, including address information (office, post & e-mail), telephone numbers, and opening hours should be included, and easily found.
- A feedback function for the user to send comments and suggestions to the webmaster should be included.
- Relevant laws and regulations should be made available.
- A collection of links to useful and topic-related web sites should be included.
- A terminology glossary relating to the authority’s area of responsibility should be provided.
- Up-to-date press releases should be published.
- Frequently asked questions with comprehensive answers should be made available.
